Stay Safe This Severe Weather Season – Sign Up for CodeRED Alerts

As we enter severe weather season in our region, the Wood River Fire Department encourages all residents to take a few minutes to prepare. Severe storms, tornadoes, flash flooding, and other emergencies can develop quickly, and staying informed is one of the best ways to keep your family safe.

One important tool available to Madison County residents is CodeRED, a high-speed emergency notification system used by local officials to quickly share important information with the public.

CodeRED allows emergency management and public safety officials to send targeted alerts directly to your phone in the event of an emergency. Notifications may include warnings about severe weather, evacuation notices, road closures, missing persons, or other urgent situations that require immediate attention. Messages can be sent to specific neighborhoods, municipalities, or across the entire county when necessary.

By signing up for CodeRED, you’ll receive timely alerts that help you stay aware of dangerous conditions and make informed decisions to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Signing up is quick and easy. Madison County residents can register their contact information by visiting the link below:

We encourage everyone in our community to take advantage of this free service. The few minutes it takes to sign up today could make a critical difference during an emergency.

The Wood River Fire Department remains committed to keeping our community safe, informed, and prepared throughout severe weather season. Stay alert, stay prepared, and make sure your household is ready before the next storm arrives.
