WRBA at Main Street Now Conference
The Wood River Business Alliance (WRBA) was proud to be represented on a national stage at the 2026 Main Street Now Conference, held April 12–15 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This annual gathering brings together community leaders, economic developers, and downtown advocates from across the country—all committed to strengthening and revitalizing their local districts.
Representing WRBA this year were Executive Director Kristen Burns and Board Member Danyelle Green, who immersed themselves in several days of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Through a variety of breakout sessions, they explored innovative strategies in economic vitality, placemaking, small business support, and community engagement—key pillars that directly impact the continued growth of downtown Wood River.
Beyond the classroom, Burns and Green connected with fellow “Main Streeters” from communities both large and small, exchanging ideas, success stories, and lessons learned. These conversations are often where some of the most valuable insights emerge—real-world experiences that can be adapted and brought back home.
Their time in Tulsa wasn’t just about gathering information—it was about gaining a fresh perspective. With new ideas and renewed energy, WRBA is already looking at ways to build on the momentum happening in the downtown district.
The organization is excited to translate what they’ve learned into meaningful action for Wood River. From creative programming to new opportunities for local businesses, the insights gained at Main Street Now will help shape future initiatives and strengthen the vibrancy of the community.
And this is just the beginning.
Stay tuned—WRBA has an exciting announcement coming in the weeks ahead that you won’t want to miss.
