Empowering the Next Generation: WRBA Welcomes Our Student Leaders
The Wood River Business Alliance (WRBA) was thrilled to welcome our two new high school board members, Eva Steininger and Jace Burns from East Alton–Wood River High School, at this year’s Downtown Trick or Treat event! Their introduction marked more than just a fun fall celebration — it represented a meaningful step forward in empowering the next generation of community leaders.
A Celebration of Community & Connection
As costumed families filled the streets of downtown Wood River, Eva and Jace joined the WRBA team in welcoming visitors, connecting with local businesses, and experiencing firsthand the energy of our growing downtown. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were contagious — a reminder that the future of Wood River is bright and full of promise.
Building a Bridge Between Students and Businesses
By bringing youth voices to the table, the WRBA aims to strengthen the bridge between education, entrepreneurship, and community development. Eva and Jace represent a new era of collaboration — where local businesses, civic organizations, and young people work together to shape the city’s future.
This partnership isn’t just symbolic; it’s strategic. By engaging students early in community life, we’re cultivating leadership, fostering pride in our local identity, and ensuring that Wood River continues to grow with creativity, inclusivity, and heart.
A Vision for the Future
The WRBA envisions a powerful partnership that amplifies youth perspectives, celebrates civic pride, and builds lasting relationships between students and local businesses. Through mentorship, participation, and shared experiences, Eva and Jace will gain valuable insight into the inner workings of community leadership — and our organization will gain fresh ideas, youthful energy, and innovative thinking.
Thank You to Our Student Leaders
We extend a warm welcome and heartfelt gratitude to Eva Steininger and Jace Burns for stepping forward to serve as WRBA student representatives. Your willingness to learn, lead, and lend your voice inspires us all. Together, we’re shaping a Wood River that’s not only growing — but thriving for generations to come.
