Wood River Business Alliance Achieves National Accreditation from Main Street America
The Wood River Business Alliance (WRBA) is proud to announce it has been officially designated as an Accredited Main Street America™ program, a prestigious recognition that acknowledges the organization’s commitment to economic vitality, historic preservation, and community-driven revitalization.
Main Street America, a program of the National Main Street Center, recognizes communities across the country that demonstrate a high level of achievement in strengthening their local economies while preserving their unique character. Accreditation is awarded annually to programs that meet rigorous performance standards in areas such as organizational capacity, community engagement, sustainable funding, and measurable impact.
“This accreditation is a testament to the dedication of our board, staff, volunteers, and community partners who work tirelessly to make Wood River a vibrant place to live, work, and do business,” said Kristen Burns, Director of the Wood River Business Alliance. “We are honored to join a network of leading Main Street programs nationwide and remain committed to building on this momentum.”
To earn Accredited status, the WRBA demonstrated excellence across Main Street America’s Four-Point Approach®: Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization. Over the past year, the organization has supported local businesses, enhanced the downtown district, hosted community events, and fostered partnerships that contribute to long-term growth.
“This recognition reflects the strength of our community and our shared vision for Wood River’s future,” said Tom Stalcup, Mayor of Wood River. “The Wood River Business Alliance continues to play a vital role in driving progress while honoring the character that makes our city special.”
As an Accredited Main Street America program, the WRBA will have access to expanded resources, training, and a national network of peers dedicated to strengthening historic downtowns and commercial districts.
The Wood River Business Alliance invites community members, businesses, and stakeholders to celebrate this achievement and continue supporting efforts to grow and enhance the local economy.
